Olaitan Martins

Chairperson, FBN Insurance Brokers Limited

Olaitan Martins was appointed the Chairperson of the FBN Insurance Brokers Limited on March 27, 2024. She brings on board her over twenty-five years rich experience in the Nigerian financial sector. Martins is currently the Group Executive, Transaction Banking, First Bank of Nigeria Limited and prior to that, Group Head, Manufacturing Sector and Corporate Banking Group. 

Martins career journey has seen her work in various financial institutions, including Investment Banking & Trust Limited, Intercontinental Bank Limited, IBTC Asset Management Limited and Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, where she held different leadership positions. 

Since joining FirstBank over a decade ago, Olaitan has recorded remarkable achievements instrumental to repositioning FirstBank’s Corporate Banking business as a credible industry player. She also led the digitization and automation of the client interface processes and the wholesale business processes for trade transactions, which have led to an increased adoption of industry platforms for collections, increased volume of transactions and increased customer base, amongst others. She brings her deep market-facing experience to bear on the Corporate Banking Group.

She has a wealth of experience across cash management, trade services, product development, relationship management, business development, risk management, wealth and portfolio management, investment banking, and treasury and foreign exchange management amongst others.

 Olaitan is the Chairperson of FirstBank Women Network (FWN) where she lends her voice to more inclusion for women in the workplace. She is a pioneer for change, using her leadership skills for mentoring, sponsorships and advocacy for career women.

She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and currently finalizing her Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at the University of Durham, United Kingdom. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Manchester Business School, United Kingdom and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Olaitan enjoys reading, cooking and dancing.
